European diploma? Apply to the School of Business and Management of Technology!

Logistics is a modern and needed field of knowledge. Large companies nowadays need professional logisticians for implementation of assigned tasks. We’ve decided to talk with Mr Oyvind Halskau, Norwegian partner of SBMT, professor of joint Belarusian-Norwegian program, director of master’s programs of Molde Universuty College (Norway).

Tell me about your University, please.

Molde University College is a small University on western seaboard of Norway. It was founded in 1944. Molde University College is a leader among Scandinavian universities specialized in logistics. There are only 1800 students: nearly 1500 study on bachelor programs, nearly 40 people enter master’s programs, 20 students enter postgraduate programs. Nearly 160 students are foreign citizens of 40 nationalities.

– You lecture both at Molde University College and the School of Business and Management of Technology of BSU on Belarusian-Norwegian program. Are these programs identical? Is there any difference?

– There are two master’s programs: Industrial Logistics the program is oriented on Mathematics and Statistics and Supply Chain Management the program is oriented on management and organization.
Here in Minsk we offer the first one mathematically oriented, there is no special difference concerning content.

– Tell me, please, how would you benefit studying on joint Belarusian-Norwegian program and receiving diploma of Molde University College?

– The main advantage of this program is that it gives the opportunity to study during the term at Molde University College in Norway where students combine fundamental knowledge acquired here at the School of Business and Management of Technology of BSU and theory and practice of Norwegian professors.
– Students get European master’s degree in the sphere of logistics on graduation.

– Academic part of the program is rather solid, what’s about its practical implication?

– Master’s program is really academic and gives profound theoretical preparation. Alumni’s career proves that companies value their knowledge because they know how to implement it in solving practical tasks.
– Many firms store practical knowledge but unfortunately they lack theory. Combining theoretical knowledge with company practical experience our listeners become unique employees.
Our alumni work in such companies as Statoil, Tine, Rolls-Royce, Hustamarmor.

Thanks for the interview!
